Building on its innovative FLyknit textile (first debuted in 2012 with the Flyknit Racer), Nike for the first time is using the fabric to create an apparel item, a women’s sports bra.
Designed by Nike designer Nicole Rendone, the focus was to create a supportive and comfortable bra (which also happens to look amazing). “The goal of the Nike FE/NOM Flyknit Bra was maximum support and comfort that would allow women to feel and look amazing while doing anything they choose,” said Rendone.”
The lookbook features soccer player and Olympic gold medalist Sydney Leroux, who said the bra’s best feature is that it’s supportive but not too supportive. “Some sports bras keep me so locked in that it’s almost hard to breathe. But when I wear the Nike FE/NOM Flyknit bra I feel free, like I can move around but still be completely supported,” said LeRoux.
Priced at $80, the bra debuted last week and is now sold out, but will see a wider release in a wide array of colors soon. In the meantime, check out a preview of upcoming color offerings here.
