Following on the heels of its opulent presentation for pre-fall 2017, Gucci has released its spring campaign images along with a video, directed by Glen Luchford. According to press, the video was filmed in Rome and shows a band of “artists and colorful characters feasting on hamburgers dressed in evening gowns, hanging out with tigers and lions and partying in a marble fountain.”
The video and the accompanying images are inspired by a generation of free-thinking intellectuals and artists who made their home in Rome during the ’50s and 60s, and is an homage to individuals including American painter Cy Twombly, Italian painter Mario Schifano and Italian actress Laura Betti.
