Puma and Rihanna‘s creeper silhouette has been awarded shoe of the year by Footwear News magazine, which commented that the shoe was the only choice for the 2016 shoe of the year. The magazine will present the award at the 30th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards in New York on November 29th.
The shoe of the year is selected based on retail sales, consumer feedback, social media prowess and overall buzz.” Adidas and Kanye West were awarded last year for the Yeezy Boost and in 2014, Adidas took home the prize for its Stan Smith silhouette.
The Puma x Rihanna creeper first hit retail with a launch in September 2015 with all three colors selling out quickly. As part of our own Snobette Sneaker Awards, the Puma x Rihanna creeper won the top slot in 2015.
