Mason Margiela is very much in its lane these days, parked as fashion is in the age of ambiguity, a place that is also a cinch for newly-appointed designer John Galliano. Looking at his offerings for resort 2016, it is clear that Galliano, much like an athlete returning from an injury, is getting back up to speed and beginning to feel himself with hints of his signatures beginning to surface, including giant belt buckles or the slouching glam of double-faced sequin dress. The lookbook itself is fun mixing up the male and female models in such a way that you give up trying to figure out who is who and what is what, which is probably the point in and of itself. All very good, but probably the best is yet to come.
