Fashion designer Duro Oluwu has curated a beautiful exhibition at Salon 94 this summer titled “More Material.” Equal parts exhibit and pop-up boutique, Olowu has assembled an array of items ranging from paintings, drawings, sculptures, furniture, photography, ceramics, found objects as well as antique Yoruba costumes and his own collection of ornate capes. Unconventional bold women of style are clearly at the epicenter of this show at where Olowu pays homage to the ones whose have influenced and inspired his creations. Says Olowu on the exhibit, “I wanted to show female rebellion in an elegant less confrontational way.” Take a look at some images taken from the show, which is on view through August 1st at Salon 94 Bowery.
